over the last year i have traveled to canada frequently for gigs and got to know the small but healthy electronic music scene there. cities like montreal, vancouver and toronto have brought forth many established artists over the past few years, such as egyptrixx, azari & iii, basic soul unit, jacques greene, lunice and sixtoo, but 2012 has seen a new breed of no-nonsense house and techno producers come up via labels like turbo recordings and naked lunch. this *dovercourt ep* features three very talented producers: kevin mcphee, nautiluss and gingy. their tracks are a dedication to their hometown of toronto. being removed from the house/techno epicentres of berlin and london, these three are much less interested in what is fashionable or trendy, and more in bringing us straight to the point, no frails jacking house music. i have been playing these three extensively in my dj sets, and i hope you will too. so out to toronto, this one is for you! enjoy. martyn

first release on new label martin hossbach (berlin). berlins most extravangant furniture dealer, rafael horzon, who sold more than 30.000 copies of his biography »das weisse buch« in germany, lets peaches sing about his love for the shelves he makes in his berlin-mitte factory. this is the first time peaches sings in german! classy synth pop, music written by armin von milch of milch fame. extravagant die-cut sleeve, the inner sleeve features the lyric sheet as used by peaches and also includes a cd featuring the two songs from the vinyl. mastered by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering, 180g pressing. a music video will be posted on youtube and go viral, a week prior to the release.

the verwunschen ep got influenced by many deep house music, tech house, but also by electronic underground music, which was not made for the club. a mixture of this and organic instruments, which are typical for his music, made the music warm and melancholic, but the cutted vocals brought a little clubby atmosphere in the track. in the bonus track >bosporus< you hear the influence of berlin tech house music. trumpets were very popular at that time in berlin. the track was only made for the club. remixes from marlon hoffstadt and matthias kick were organised, who did their own interpretation and showed some other sides of the song.
